Gather for FISU! Visit Universities, Explore Dalian!

is not just a spectacular contest,

but also an in-depth cultural exchange.

In recent days, participating teams from various countries in the Dalian 2025 FISU University World Cup Football have continued to visit local schools in Dalian when they are not competing.

To promote sports and cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth, on September 26, a 22-member delegation consisting of teachers and students from the women’s football team of the University of Sydney from Australia, who had come to Dalian to participate in the 2025 FISU University World Cup Football, visited the Lingshui Main Campus of Dalian University of Technology.

The delegation first toured the Museum of University History, and thoroughly understood the university’s 76-year history of running the institution and its achievements in talent cultivation. The team members were deeply impressed by the story of teachers and students in the 1960s who built the main teaching building with their own hands, and they personally felt the university’s legacy of self-reliance and hard work.

At the Center of Engineering Training and the Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, the team members stopped to observe the robot training ground, 3D printing exhibition area, and experimental platforms. They expressed admiration for the university’s solid foundation in innovative practice and engineering competency development, and witnessed the rapid development of China’s scientific and technological innovation.

Stepping into the gymnasium named after Liu Changchun, “China’s First Olympian,” the team members not only experienced the modern sports facilities but also heard the story of Liu Changchun. Amid the cross-temporal resonance of the sports spirit, they deepened their understanding of the value of sports.

With football as the link and campus as the window, this visit allowed youth students to deeply feel the integration of technology and sports as well as the intersection of history and innovation. It further helped them understand the unique value of sports in promoting cultural mutual learning and deepening friendship among youth, and also laid a solid foundation for the two universities to expand cooperation areas and strengthen talent co-cultivation.

Football as a Bridge, Cultural Exchange Deepens Friendship

From September 22 to 25, Liaoning Normal University successively received visits and exchanges from the women’s football team delegation of the Beijing Normal University -College of P.E and Sports and the football team delegation of Ramon Llull University from Spain.

On September 22, women’s football team delegation of Beijing Normal University paid a visit. Both sides held in-depth discussions on the development of campus football, the cultivation of high-level talents, and the construction of sports disciplines. The delegation also visited the Museum of Liaoning Normal University History, gaining a deep understanding of the university’s development history, school-running characteristics, and talent cultivation achievements.

After the meeting, members of the women’s football team from Beijing Normal University and students from the School of Physical Education, LNNU jointly carried out special teaching and research exchange activities. Through on-site training, observation and interactive discussions, they achieved mutual improvement in both tactics and teaching concepts.

On September 25, a 23-member delegation from the football team of Ramon Llull University from Spain, visited Liaoning Normal University, kicking off an exchange tour with the core theme of “Cultural Exchange and Educational Integration”.

A welcome ceremony kicked off with the traditional Chinese music Hua Hao Yue Yuan, instantly immersed the guests in the charm of traditional Chinese music.

At the track-and-field stadium of the School of Physical Education, LNNU, the guests observed the university men’s football team’s training and experienced a class of traditional Chinese martial arts that combines hardness and softness.

Subsequently, the delegation went to the Faculty of Education to participate in the Chinese language and calligraphy experience activities, immersing themselves in the aesthetics of Chinese characters amid the fragrance of ink and paper. At the Art Gallery, they viewed intangible cultural heritage items such as paper-cutting up close, gaining a profound appreciation for the great originality of traditional Chinese arts and crafts.
