The delegation was warmly received by Vice President Liu Wenhe, who was accompanied by heads of relevant departments including Zheng Peng, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and the Director of the Sports Department.

During the tour, the delegation proceeded first to the “Ocean Power Square,” where they were briefed on the university’s development vision and cultural foundation, guided by its mission to “serve the nation’s strategy of building China into a strong maritime country.” Their next stop was the Heishiijiao Bay – Fish Garden Research Base, where they gained in-depth insight into the university’s prominent accomplishments in fields including aquatic germplasm resources, healthy aquaculture, marine resource utilization, and the research and development (R&D) of deep-sea equipment. The itinerary concluded at the Ministry of Education’s Key Laboratory of Facility Fisheries. There, the guests listened to presentations from research staff on green aquaculture and smart fisheries development, speaking highly of the laboratory’s achievements in scientific innovation, technology transfer, and high-level talent cultivation.

Following these activities, the delegation also visited the Liaoning Province Key Laboratory of Northern Aquatic Germplasm Resources and Genetic Breeding, as well as the Modern Aquaculture Seed Breeding Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Key Laboratory of Northern Mariculture. This allowed them to gain a comprehensive overview of Dalian Ocean University’s scientific innovation and application in promoting the revitalization of the blue seed industry, and the protection and utilization of germplasm resources. During the visits, the guests engaged in cordial exchanges with representatives of faculty and students. They not only shared the team spirit and cultural appeal brought by football but also explored development paths for mutual promotion between sports and sci-tech education.

This visit showcased Dalian Ocean University’s comprehensive strength in scientific research and innovation, talent cultivation, and cultural inheritance, further enhancing exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and African youth in the fields of sports and humanities. Taking the FISU University World Cup Football as an opportunity, the university will actively promote international cooperation and exchanges, deepen the integrated development of sports, education, and science and technology, and contribute to building an open, inclusive, and mutually learning international campus.
