First half
Shanghai University of Sport launched a tidal wave of attacks and created multiple scoring chances in front of the opponent’s goal. In the 5th minute, player No. 11 of Shanghai University of Sport scored an empty-net tap-in, becoming the first to break the deadlock on the pitch. After that, both teams exchanged attacks, creating scoring chances in front of each other’s goals on multiple occasions, but both failed to convert these chances into goals.
In the 32nd minute, Shanghai University of Sport seized another opportunity. Player No. 25 launched a one-on-one attack against the goalkeeper and scored with a push shot, updating the score to 2-0.

Second half
Shanghai University of Sport continued relentless attack in the 55th minute, player No. 11 of Shanghai University of Sport capitalized on the opposing goalkeeper’s mistake, extending the score to 3-0.
In the 67th minute, player No. 11 of Shanghai University of Sport once again took advantage of the mistake between the opposing goalkeeper and defender, completing a hat-trick and increasing the score to 4-0.



In the end, Shanghai University of Sport defeated the University of Valencia 4-0, securing a winning start to the tournament. The match drew a crowd of 21,158 spectators.



After the match, Sun Fangxin, who completed a hat-trick, admitted that it was normal for the players to feel a bit nervous in the first half of the opening game. In the second half, the whole team gradually took control of the game with smooth passes and aggressive tackling, and the result of a landslide victory was ultimately satisfying.
When talking about the team’s goal for this tournament, captain Zhong Shuixin stated that they would prepare actively, win every game, and finally claim the championship.
Zhong Shuixin was deeply grateful to see so many spectators come to cheer for the team. Zhong Shuixin said,

Zhao Haotong, a freshman from Dalian Minzu University who comes from Guangxi, is passionate about playing football in his daily life. It was his first time coming to Dalian and Suoyuwan, and he was overwhelmed with excitement.
Zhao Haotong said,
“As a guy who loves playing football in daily life, being able to come to Suoyuwan and experience the on-site atmosphere is an extremely exciting and joyful thing for me.
The atmosphere at Suoyuwan Football Stadium is truly fantastic. No one who loves playing football can resist the temptation to play on this pitch.”
Shi Jinhan from Dalian Ocean University was deeply impressed by the martial arts performance at the opening ceremony.”

Liu Mingtong, a 12-year-old student from Dalian No. 34 Middle School, enjoys watching football matches in spare time. Being able to watch the world’s top-tier university football event right on his doorstep filled him with a natural sense of pride as a Dalian local.
Liu Mingtong said,
“This stadium is built by the sea and is really beautiful. Today, I came here to cheer for the Chinese team, and I hope they can show the grace and spirit of Chinese college students on the pitch.”
